With Koralan® ED 411 and Koralan® ED 418 we are offering two new opaque wood coatings for trade and industry.
What makes Koralan® ED 411 and Koralan® ED 418 so high-performing?
Whenever painted surfaces come into contact during transport, storage, or due to construction design, there is a risk of them sticking together. Many coatings labeled as block-resistant do not achieve this property across all color shades. Block resistance often decreases as more tinting pastes are added. Our R&D team has solved this problem by utilizing innovative Pearls technology for Koralan® ED 411 and Koralan® ED 418. Instead of liquid tinting pastes, we use rapidly dissolving color pearls. This eliminates the need for additives like biocides and humectants, which can increase tackiness and negatively impact stackability. The result: high block resistance across the entire color spectrum.
How did we manage to make the paint film not only block-resistant but also elastic and highly weather-resistant?
The answer lies in our innovative core-shell binder technology. It is based on polymer particles with an elastic core and a hard surface. Once dry, the paint surface is defined by the hard, block-resistant particles, while the core remains elastic and flexible. This creates long-lasting wood coatings with high block resistance and excellent weather resistance.
