Wood saves the climate

From 19 September to 5 October 2025, the German timber industry will once again make a strong statement for climate protection.

Under the umbrella of the German Timber Industry Council (DHWR), numerous associations have come together to raise public awareness of the importance of wood use, wood products and sustainable forest management with the “Wood saves climate” initiative.

“With these action days, we want to inspire people to work in our industry: The forest and the forestry and timber industry play a decisive role in a sustainable future — ecologically, economically and socially. We want to spread the enthusiasm of our employees for their jobs into society and attract people of all ages to our industry,” says the action alliance.

On the website www.holz-rettet-klima.de Find out interesting facts about the initiative, about wood as a raw material and climate saver, as well as about the forest as a habitat and its significance for us humans.

At KORA® Holzschutz, the enthusiasm for wood has a long tradition and good reasons: Our home is the Rothaargebirge in south-eastern North Rhine-Westphalia — a home with 78,000 hectares of forest. That is why we know the value of wood as a renewable resource.

Here are the facts:

  • C02 neutral
  • low energy consumption from logging to processing
  • easy transport due to low weight
  • high elasticity and strength

With our KORA® wood protection products, we are making a contribution to making wood versatile and usable in the first place for specific areas of application, such as wine and fruit growing, telecommunications masts.
