Hikers on the Rothaarsteig are confronted with an imposing adventure, namely the hanging bridge at Bad Berleburg-Kühhude. Spanning 40 m, the bridge stretches across a side valley of the Rothaar hills and lies directly on the route of the well-known hiking path "Rothaarsteig" which goes from Brilon to Dillenburg.

Domestic oak and spruce from ecological forestry operations were used to make the bridge. To ensure permanent protection against wood-rotting fungi and insects, the woods were treated with Korasit CKF in a pressure boiler process. This was performed by the company Pieper-Holz in Olsberg-Assinghausen, which also realised the construction of the bridge.
